Is having an all or nothing attitude good, bad or just part of who we are? Is there such a thing as all in or all out and is it healthy?
Every one is familiar with the tag line, “Just do it”, an integral part of Nike’s branding. And so it is with our personalities. It is part of our branding, who we are, based on our stories. Genetics, environment and our humans (what we surround ourselves with) is what we become. Or do we?
Being one of those individuals with and “all in or all out” personality has lead me to more questions than I could have imagined. Is all in or all out totally different ends of a spectrum or can it be considered a continuum to be navigated throughout my process.
The last post was about life transformation. Instead of integrating change slowly by working on an individual habit, I decided to just jump in with both feet. Deciding the best place to start was with my health (mental, physical and spiritual), I found a good Jewish doctor who is still working to convince me that moderation (and often moderation in moderation) is a good thing. I incorporated a series of YBYE, Your Best You Ever classes. They have been amazing and are a topic of their own. With that my eating habits and weight would be a good thing to work on. And in researching getting healthy, I added dry brushing, meditation classes and essential oils to my life. And because all of these things should be beneficial, I added walking and a couple of marathon’s this year to keep me walking to the mix. See a pattern yet? Yes, all in or all out!
While I do this and overwhelm myself, often times, I am very excited about journey!
My goal is not just to share it with you. I want to know what attitudes you share, I want to hear your thoughts and answer any questions you may have as well.
Until next time, take care of you!
