By the photo, you are able to guess that my favorite meal is breakfast! And sometimes, breakfast, that’s what is for dinner!
I have always been a breakfast person. And have discovered the last several years that while I sometimes like sweets, my breakfast needs to be savory to make me truly happy. Leftovers from the night before work great!
Foods have been labeled: breakfast food ie: eggs, bacon, toast, oatmeal, cereal, breakfast bars, pastries, donuts…. Yipes! Processed snack boxes called Lunchables. I am sure the list could go on and on.
Have you noticed that for centuries we have labeled the times of day to eat? Breakfast is indicative of morning as we are breaking the fast after sleep. Lunch is usually midday and Dinner is in the evening. There is even Brunch – which comes in somewhere between breakfast and lunch. And as I have been told by a southerner, dinner is midday and supper is the evening meal.
So here is the thing, the food that makes your heart happy is the food you should eat when you are hungry.
It doesn’t matter what time of day it is. One of my favorite times to eat “breakfast” is in the evening for dinner. And I am not past having a salad for breakfast, with eggs on top. Puts a whole new spin on egg salad.
take another look at the photo. These were banana pancakes. Notice to that I had a cup of coffee. It could be tea or often times hot water with lemon. Depends on the day. And always start your day drinking water! Yes, out of what ever type of glass makes you happy. And I always take my supplements with food. Just works better for me that way. You do no see syrup as I am not crazy about it on my pancakes. I ate them that way for years because that is how my family served them. I can do what I want now, I am a grown up-yes! And all of it on antique Blue Danube dishes gifted to me by my mother. They are about as old as I am. I am worth the good china!
